When you use kitchen.the-good-plate.com — the official site of The Good Plate: Store and Courses (“the Site”) — we (or our service providers, on our behalf) may collect:

  • Account information: name, email address, username/password, submitted when you register or enroll in a course
  • Purchase information: billing details and transaction history, handled by our payment processor, SureCart (we do not store full card numbers)
  • Course activity: enrollment, progress, quiz results, and completion status within LifterLMS
  • Communications: messages you send us, and email engagement if you subscribe to our newsletter (via MailerLite)
  • Usage data: pages visited and general site interaction, collected in aggregate/anonymized form via our analytics provider (Plausible)

2. How We Use Information

We use the information above to:

  • Create and manage your account, and give you access to courses you’ve purchased
  • Process payments and fulfill product orders
  • Send transactional emails (receipts, course updates) and, if you’ve opted in, marketing/newsletter emails
  • Respond to your questions and provide customer support
  • Understand overall site usage in aggregate, to improve content and site design

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Cookies and Analytics

The Site uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not track individuals across sites — it reports aggregate, anonymized visitor counts and page-view data only.

Some essential cookies may still be used by the site itself (for login sessions) and by our payment processor (SureCart) and course platform (LifterLMS) to keep you logged in and your cart/progress intact. These are functional, not advertising, cookies.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on the following providers to run the Site, each of which processes certain data on our behalf under their own privacy policies:

  • SureCart — payment processing and order/subscription management (receives billing and payment details)
  • LifterLMS — course delivery, enrollment, and progress tracking (runs on our own WordPress site)
  • MailerLite — email newsletter delivery (receives your email address and engagement data if you subscribe)
  • Plausible Analytics — anonymized, cookie-free site analytics
  • Cloudflare — content delivery and security (processes standard technical/connection data)
  • OVHcloud — our web hosting provider

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. Data Sharing, Disclosure, and Retention

We share information only with the service providers listed above, as needed to operate the site, and when required by law (e.g., to comply with a subpoena or legal process).

We retain account and purchase records for as long as your account is active and as needed to meet tax, accounting, and legal obligations. You can request deletion of your account data at any time, subject to records we’re legally required to keep (such as purchase/tax records).

We use Plausible for our analytics and therefore do not use cookies if your browser has advertising disabled. Our advertisers may collect other information. When you fill out a form, we collect your email address and will email relevant information should you opt-in. Your email address is never shared with third party advertisers.

The techniques and methods taught in courses are based on the instructor’s personal experience and are intended for home cooks working in a properly equipped kitchen.
